This work is inspired by traditional Jewish paper cuts. Jewish art reveals universal elements in its visual representation of animals. Animals in pairs, utilizing symmetry is said to underline the balance of creation. The Tree of Life was a widespread visual symbol in ancient Mediterranean civilizations. The tree represents life, death, resurrection, maternal attributes, the life cycle. In Jewish myth, the tree is the symbol of creation, the Torah, and eternal life.
